There was one non-functioning built in electric heater, and a host of portable electric heaters in the house. Electricity here is expensive, so I chose gas heat when I put in the central heating and air. I also put the furnace in the attic so as not to mar the roofline (there was no good place on the gound). When we remodel we will probably have to reroute some of the ductwork in the attic, but that should be pretty easy.
